As I was walking through Toronto’s Union Station, I heard outcries in the hall. They were coming from kids holding up signs that said “We Day”. The first question I asked myself was “What is ‘We Day'” and I posted it on Facebook.
“We Day” is based on “Free the Children” started by Marc and Craig Kielburger back in 2007. The message asks the youth of today to “BE the CHANGE for Tomorrow”. According to CTV, there’s expected to be around 60,000 kids attending today’s event at the Air Canada Centre. With that kind of turnout at “We Day”, I realized that the youth have the POWER to make the change in the world. Our earth is one country, and we are all its global citizens.
Mahatma Ghandi said “You are the CHANGE that you want to see in the world”. Even though we are many in this Earth, we can have ONE voice. With this ONE voice, we can make the change in this World. I just a story shared by Robin Wiszowat with the moral: “Together we can achieve our goals”.
To the youth of today, I commission you to “take Hold , BE Strong and ACCELERATE! YOU have a SPECIAL gift to GIVE … the WORLD is WAITING… for YOU!!”
How will YOU bring meaningful change the WORLD? Let me know how you intend to leave your footprint. =)
